Dear Readers,
So last week eight of my closest friends in Glasgow and I went on a girls holiday to Mallorca Spain to celebrate the end of our semester of grad school! We chose to go to Mallorca a little holiday island on the east coast of Spain, to lay in the sun and just relax for a few days, and we ended up having a more incredible holiday than we could have imagined. We flew from Glasgow to Palma on a nice early 7:00am flight so that we arrived in Palma (the main city on the island) around 10:30am allowing us to have the full day in Mallorca!
We stayed at this really great Villa in Llucmajor, which was about a twenty-minute drive from Palma airport. It was an Airbnb called Villa Petit Amour, and it was so perfect, and I would completely recommend staying there. We rented to cars while we were there, which made it easy to get around and adventure about the island ourselves. The villa itself was in its own community, so it was really amazing to be spending five days living in our own place in a community instead of going to a resort. It was also really nice to be living in a HOUSE instead of my dorm room. The villa was lovely, completely perfect for a group of girls. We had five-bedrooms, two washrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, two balconies and of course an outdoor patio and pool!!! I kept joking that we were on a reality tv show.
Our first day we were just really excited to be there. After we were done exploring the house we split up into two groups, with a few girls on a grocery run, and the rest of us put on our swimsuits and headed straight for the pool and the sun. After spending the winter in Glasgow, and the spring in London (which was very rainy), it was so fantastic to have six days of great sunny warm weather, and we were all about to take advantage of it.
The moment the girls got back with the groceries, we threw together a quick spread of snacks (we were all starving since we haven’t eaten since like 6am). One of the best parts of having a villa was that we were able to cook all our meals and such throughout our trip, and what was even better was having a table!! In our flats, we do not have tables in our kitchens… just an island for four people. Throughout the trip, I was really impressed with the meals we put together, we were an impressive group of chefs (and bartenders).
After we filled up on some snacks (we were pretty hungry) and had a few drinks we decided to go on an adventure to find the water! Surprisingly, we were only about a ten-minute walk to the water… but that water resulted in being a cliff, but the view was still incredible.
Following our adventure to the water, we went back to the villa to make dinner, have a few drinks and watch the sunset. A few of us climbed up on to the roof of our villa to get a beautiful view of the sunset. It was the perfect end to the first day of our holiday.
Since we got up to so much throughout our few days I am going to publish a few different blog posts about our trip! It would be way to overwhelming to write about everything we did at once (and I don’t want to leave out any great details of our trip). BUT I did put together this little video of our trip, so it’s a little glimpse of what is going to come in the future.
