Dear Readers,
WELL I was two thirds successful on my November reading list as I managed to read 2 out of the 3 books I talked about. I managed to read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Anne Shaffer which I loved. I finished reading it on my flight to Toronto and I teared up on the plane!!!! I also managed to read The Creative City of Saint John Edited by Gwendolyn Davies, Peter Larocque & Christl Verduyn. If you are from Saint John I recommend this book! It is a great read filled with various chapters about different aspects of Saint John including history, geology, and art.
For the month of January I have three books I am planning to read:
Marilla of Green Gables by Sarah McCoy. My first favourite book/ movie/ musical/ soundtrack/ person was Anne of Green Gables so I am so excited to read this book. The book is all about Marilla as a young girl and her life at Green Gables with her brother Matthew years before Anne appears.
Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. My grandmother gave me this book before Christmas as a graduation gift and I can’t wait to dive into it. Wolf Hall is all about Thomas Cromwell, one of the right hand men to Henry VIII for a period of time in the mid 16th century. A book that is very suiting for my academic background. The series of books has also already been turned into a mini series!
Bobbi Brown: Beauty from Inside Out by Bobbi Brown. Santa left this book for me and I am really looking forward o reading it. I have flipped through it a bit but I have not sat down and read it properly. Written by the renown makeup artist Bobbi Brown the book looks at beauty from make up to hair but also focuses on eating properly and exercise. If you have any suggestions on books I should read please comment them below!!
I love how varied your book choices are, just like you! Very well rounded. Emma and I watched The Guresey Potatoe Pie… movie over Christmas. You have to watch it now that you’ve read the book. It’s very good. It’s on Netflix.
