For the majority of my life I have always been a simple studs sorta girl when it came to earrings. However, over the last year I have started taking a liking to statement earrings… and my favourite earring dish has become full with hoops, tassel earrings, doubled ended pearls and other fun earrings.
For the last few years I hardly ever changed my earrings, I tended to only wear simple pearl studs or other silver studs, I think I forgot how fun earrings can be!!
In light of my new found obsession I thought I would show a few of my favourite statement earrings at the moment:
The last time I can remember ever wanted to wear big hoops was back in elementary school (when I was way too young to be). I decided to buy a simple pair just at H&M last year in Glasgow to see if I would wear them. This fall I fell in love with Machete Jewellery, which designs tortoise print hoops. These hoops are gorgeous, so light, and go with every outfit.
Initially when Tassel earrings became a trend they just reminded me of Breakfast at Tiffany’s when Holly Golightly is wearing her infamous tassel ear plugs and turquoise eye mask. Again, I first bought a pair at H&M to see if I would wear them, and it was a successful purchase. Last Spring while I was travelling I was wearing them a ton, they just seemed to go with a bulk of my Spring wardrobe.
Since I started working at The Urban Shoe Myth I have definitely taken more of a liking to silver statement earrings, the store carries so many great lines like Biko, Jenny Bird and Melanie Auld. I have always been a silver jewellery person, and the fact that my grad rings are both silver I probably will remain a silver jewellery person (because I doubt either of my rings will ever come off). Particularly, I am obsessed with the Solar Wave Studs by Biko.
I will always love my classic studs, but it has been fun to incorporate more earrings into my daily outfits. I am excited to see what statement earrings come out for the Spring & Summer 2019 lines from stores like J. Crew or Zara as well, both stores carry such fun jewellery too! What are some of your favourite statement earrings to wear?!
