First of all – my apologies for the lack of posting I have done in the last few weeks. I have been a little off my game as I was recovering from a car accident and catching up with work after cruise ship season has ended, but here I am finally getting a new post up!!
One wardrobe piece of mine that has become a go to over the last year is my black leather jacket. Most evenings if I am going out I tend to throw on a black jacket, I have a few but the one I get the most wear out of is my leather jacket. I find my leather jacket goes with everything and it always adds a little more “edge” to an outfit. A leather jacket is a great piece for transitional dressing. When you layer blouses or sweaters in the fall, a leather jacket is the perfect way to tie the outfit together.
Funny enough, this jacket was my friend Chloe’s (from Quarter Life Chloe). When we were moving home from Scotland my friends and I did a clothing swap. In the midst of our packing we all had a pile of clothing that didn’t make the cut for to come back home, so we decided to organise a clothing swap one evening and donate everything that was left over! If you have never done it I definitely recommend giving it a try, we had a lot of fun switching clothes. I walked away with a few new items that I wear regularly now!
For this outfit I paired my leather jacket with a white sweater from Lordon, dark jeans that are distressed at the bottom from Gap, my snow leopard derby shoes by Rollie from The Urban Shoe Myth and my Jenny Bird icon hoops in silver. Leather jackets are so flexible when it comes to styling. Often I wear it with an all black outfit but realistically I could throw on a leather jacket with almost any outfit. In the book, Paris Street Style, leather jackets are noted as a must have item for a Parisian to have in their wardrobe, as they are great piece to transition your look from day to night in one quick swoop.
Just to mix it up, I thought I would include one of my favourite songs by my favourite band the Arkells. Chloe and I were lucky enough to see them for the second time two weeks ago. The first time I saw them, Chloe and I actually met the band, and of course I was wearing my leather jacket 😎
